Book La Vie en Rose
Specially signed by Mariek for Atelier ND
La Vie en Rose is the book by Marieke Noordanus. After the death of her daughter Kate, Marieke Noordanus couldn’t find the comfort and inspiration she was looking for. “I found many forums very heavy, the imagery unappealing, and overall not comforting. On the other hand, I found many helpful quotes on Pinterest and Instagram, and that’s how the idea for the book came about.”
From Bowie to Buddha: This book is a collection of motivating and inspiring texts that have helped Marieke over the past ten years after the death of her eldest daughter, Kate.
Marieke, who herself started a new career as a DJ after the loss of her daughter: "La Vie en Rose is explained in the HBO miniseries Landscapers as: 'To look up at the stars instead of in the gutter. To see the beauty that exists in life, even when it is difficult to find. Perhaps sometimes when it is not there.' That has been my driving force to this day.”
AUTHOR MARIEKE NOORDANUS:
“After the death of my daughter, I went (online) in search of comfort. I was looking for light, love, reassurance, comfort, and softness. A different perspective on that heavy grief and death. Inspiration to rediscover hope. And practical tools – what can you do? La Vie en Rose was born out of that need. Under the motto: ‘Be the change you want to see in the world,’ I’ve spent the last 10 years gathering a treasure trove of insights, wisdom, exercises, quotes, books, songs, and poems. All of which were soft, light, inspiring, loving, or comforting. All of these insights helped me in building a new life. It’s a toolkit you can flip through randomly – like a box of chocolates, where you can pick what suits you.”
